Sir Jac’s Bantamacs are a new outfit from Newcastle-upon-Tyne’s roots music scene, comprising of Rob Heron (Tea Pad Orchestra) on vocals and acoustic guitar, Tim Bloomer (The Mee Kats) on electric guitar and Ted Harbot (The King Bees, Kentucky Cow Tippers) on upright bass.
Together they play early Rock & Roll classics, Rockabilly rarities and Hillbilly boogies.
‘Rockin’ tunes, greased haircuts and a load of slapback delay!’
Review of their new album ‘The Prediedillac Tapes’
“This drumless trio have taken a selection of classic Rockabilly tracks, and reproduced them in the most basic, but authentically flawless fashion… This debut CD is a well conceived and consummately performed collection of varied and well known tracks. The musicians are top notch and the sound is tight, the vocals well pitched. So come on then, who is still working out what ‘Prediedillac’ means?”
